Student ag engineering design winners announcedAGCO Corporation, Duluth, Ga., and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) recently announced the winners of the 2004 AGCO National Student Design Competition for the best engineering design projects related to agriculture. The student team from Oklahoma State University received first place for its project relating to the effective means of silt fence installations. Second place was awarded to the student team from the University of Arkansas for its design of a system relating to the rapid pasteurization of animal carcasses contaminated with high-risk pathogens. The competition, sponsored by AGCO Corporation, encourages undergraduate students in the basic design of an agricultural engineering project. Cash awards, along with engraved name boards and certificates of recognition were presented to the respective universities. Date: 1/25/05
