Stockgrowers announce Helen Chenoweth-Hage to speak at BHSSSouth Dakota The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association invites everyone to Rapid City to the Black Hills Stock Show Jan. 31 to hear former Idaho Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth-Hage. The free event will be held at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center Theater and will wrap up with a social in the Stockmen's Lounge. "We hope ranchers and others with interest in property rights and personal freedoms will take advantage of this rare opportunity to hear a renowned expert speak for no charge," said South Dakota Stockgrowers Association President Ken Knuppe, Buffalo Gap. "Ms. Hage and her husband Wayne Hage are personally involved in a ranching operation in Nevada, and understand the challenges that we face on a day-to-day basis as we work to maintain our property rights," said Knuppe. "She will help us understand exactly what our rights are, as landowners, and how we can take advantage of them." Knuppe said that Hage will meet with county sheriffs and states attorneys earlier that day in the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association office, to help educate them regarding their authorities as county officials. "The Black Hills Stock Show is a great place to meet with friends, and catch up on the latest news. We hope folks will plan to spend a day or two at the Stock Show, and take the time to hear our Monday night speaker." Knuppe said the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association and R-CALF will host a booth again this year, where they will sell memberships and raffle tickets to a saddle handmade by Baxter Badure, Belvidere. Knuppe said the event is co-sponsored by the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association; the Black Hills Stock Show Foundation; the Paragon Foundation; Costello, Porter, Hill, Heisterkamp, Bushnell & Carpenter, LLP, attorneys at law; Black Hills Multiple Use Coalition as well as Jenner Equipment. The social in the Stockmen's Club following the speaker is sponsored by Fort Dodge Animal Health. Date: 1/26/05
