Soybean Association announces 2004 soybean yield, quality contest winnersNebraska The Nebraska Soybean Association announces the 2004 Nebraska Masters Soybean Yield Contest winners. The overall Master Grower Award went to Wiles Bros. of Plattsmouth. This field produced 84.66 bu. Non- irrigated soybeans planting Dekalb DKB 38-52 variety. The following are the first place winners in each district that received entries:

The Soybean Quality Contest held in conjunction with the yield contest, analyzed the soybean samples submitted for their protein and oil content. The product value was based on their protein and oil content using the cash price of crude soybean meal and oil F.O.B using the futures market Oct. 1, 2004. International customers are demanding 36 percent protein and 20 percent oil content or higher. Ag Processing, Inc. presented the top three product value winners with cash awards. Date: 1/26/05
