South Central Direct sheep sales reportThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Jan. 21 showed receipts of 1,800 feeder lambs, 800 slaughter ewes and 500 slaughter goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were firm. No comparisons on slaughter and replacement ewes. Slaughter meat goats were steady to $3 higher with advance on kids over 60 pounds. Trading was moderate, demand was good. The number of feeder lambs trading now has increased due to pasture and field conditions. Cold, dry weather has caused pastures and fields to deteriorate.
