SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 900 head Jan. 24, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady. No recent test on feeder lambs. Supplies were nearly 58% slaughter lambs with about 25% feeder lambs and the balance was mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 127 to 152 lbs., 110.25 to 113.00, consignment 168 lbs., 106.00. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, 41 head, 145 lbs., 113.00. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 55.00 to 58.00, few 59.00 to 61.00. Cull 1 to 2, 35.00 to 45.00; low dressing, 21.00 to 31.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 49 to 64 lbs., 153.00 to 160.00; 79 to 89 lbs., 131.00 to 141.00; 97 to 116 lbs., 115.00 to 119.00. Date: 1/27/05
