Tulia cattle sales reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas reported receipts of 2,799 head, compared to 1,570 head last week and 1,833 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers under 700 pounds were steady to $3 higher, over 700 pounds were mostly steady. Feeder heifers were steady to $2 higher. Limited tests on slaughter cows and bulls. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 400 to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 98% and slaughter cows and bulls 2% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 46% of the run, heifers 54%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 61%.
