Stock show season in full swingOklahoma Stock show season is in full swing. Savannah and Weston Hill recently traveled to Denver to participate in the National Western Stock Show. Savannah had a 4th place Natural and 5th place Cross. Weston placed 7th with his Cross and also was 4th in the junior showmanship division. At the Hobart pig show, Ashley Clapper and Cody Asche participated. With her Spot, Ashley placed 1st and received champion. She also had a 3rd place York. Cody placed 1st with his Spot and 2nd with his Poland. On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, Layne Meriwether and Katie Fuqua took part in the Laverne cattle show. Layne came home with champion Cross, champion Chi and reserve grand Commercial. Katie won reserve grand Maine. Kourtney Childers, Ashley Clapper, Cody Asche, Mitchell Nutter, Bret Horn, Brady Horn and Weston Hill traveled to Fairview on Saturday, Feb. 5, to participate in the pig and sheep show. At the pig show, Kourtney placed 1st with her Cross and 3rd with her Duroc. Ashley placed 1st and 4th with her Spots. Cody placed 1st with his Spot and received champion. He also placed 4th with his Poland. Mitchell placed 1st with his Hampshire. Brady placed 6th with his Hampshire and Bret placed 7th with his Cross. At the sheep show, Weston Hill won champion Shrop and champion Southdown. Everyone is gearing up for the local stock show which is slated for Saturday, Feb. 19.
