Sioux Falls sheep auctionThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., Feb. 21, reported estimated receipts of 400 head, with actual receipts of 650 head, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady to $1 higher. Feeder lambs were mostly steady on a thin test. Supplies were nearly 69% slaughter lambs with about 21% slaughter ewes and the balance mostly feeder lambs. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, load long to haul, 154 lbs., 115.50. Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 128 to 153 lbs., 112.75 to 113.75. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 47.00 to 56.00, few high dressing, 57.00 to 59.00. Cull 1 to 2, 36.00 to 46.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, package 57 lbs., 137.50; 60 to 78 lbs., 126.00 to 132.00, package 90 lbs., 130.50; 87 to 96 lbs., 121.00 to 123.00. Date: 2/24/05
