SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 400 head Feb. 14, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady. Feeder lambs were steady on a light test. Supplies were nearly 52% slaughter lambs with about 24% slaughter ewes and the balance mostly feeder lambs. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 131 to 159 lbs., 113.75 to 114.50. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, scarce. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 49.00 to 55.50, high dressing to 59.00. Cull 1 to 2, 36.00 to 47.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, few 78 lbs., 140.00; 16 head, 84 lbs., 137.00, 16 head, 119 lbs., 117.00. Date: 2/18/05
