Tulsa livestock market report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,947 head Dec. 19, compared to 2,664 head last week and 1,520 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $2 to $4 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $2 higher with light weight heifers $5 to $8 higher. Quality was fair to attractive. Demand was good. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Good attendance of buyers. Receipts were comprised of 37% steers, 51% heifers, 12% bulls, with 24% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows sold $3 to $4 higher, with bulls $1 to $2 higher. A total of 427 cows and bulls sold with 30% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 215 to 245 lbs., 155.00 to 170.00 (157.70); 5 head, 315 to 330 lbs., 158.00 to 161.00 (159.79); 19 head, 350 to 395 lbs., 141.50 to 158.00 (147.33); 405 to 448 lbs., 135.00 to 149.00 (139.68); 13 head, 450 to 480 lbs., 133.00 to 137.50 (134.69); 500 to 545 lbs., 123.00 to 134.00 (127.34); 553 to 594 lbs., 119.00 to 127.50 (121.94); 605 to 646 lbs., 110.00 to 119.00 (113.54); 10 head, 658 to 690 lbs., 107.50 to 113.50 (111.34). Medium and large frame 2, 14 head, 415 to 440 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00 (132.96); 5 head, 458 to 498 lbs., 125.00 to 131.00 (127.88); 9 head, 571 lbs., 115.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 540 lbs., 120.00 to 125.50 (123.00); 10 head, 553 to 588 lbs., 116.00 to 119.50 (116.97). Medium and large frame 2, 11 head, 550 to 590 lbs., 110.00 to 119.50 (115.17); 6 head, 752 to 783 lbs., 95.00 to 103.50 ( 99.16). Medium and large frame 3, 8 head, 610 to 618 lbs., 109.00 to 114.50 (113.14).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 305 to 343 lbs., 138.00 to 148.00 (143.30); 350 to 389 lbs., 131.00 to 145.00 (138.01); 400 to 444 lbs., 122.00 to 132.00 (127.27); 458 to 485 lbs., 119.00 to 127.50 (123.04); 503 to 548 lbs., 108.50 to 120.00 (114.51); 550 to 580 lbs., 105.00 to 115.50 (112.47); 16 head, 600 to 648 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00 (106.50); 19 head, 650 to 685 lbs., 102.00 to 107.00 (106.19); 6 head, 715 to 745 lbs., 107.00 to 110.00 (107.66). Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 313 to 345 lbs., 130.00 to 133.00 (130.95); 11 head, 411 to 435 lbs., 116.00 to 120.50 (119.67); 9 head, 455 to 490 lbs., 112.00 to 119.00 (115.69); 6 head, 558 to 595 lbs., 101.00 to 111.00 (105.81). Slaughter cows: Breakers , 25 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1150 to 1700 lbs., 53.00 to 56.50; high dressing, 57.00 to 61.00; low dressing, 48.50 to 52.00. Boners, 19 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1375 lbs., 49.00 to 52.50; high dressing, 53.00 to 54.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 48.00. Lean, 30 head, 85 to 90% lean, 950 to 1300 lbs., 49.50 to 53.00; high dressing, 54.00 to 55.00; low dressing, 46.00 to 48.50. Light, 22 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 975 lbs., 43.50 to 47.00; high dressing, 48.00; low dressing, 38.50 to 42.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 27 head, 1300 to 2175 lbs., 60.00 to 63.50; high dressing, 64.00 to 68.00; low dressing, 55.50 to 59.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, heifers, 850 to 925 lbs., 5 to 6 months bred, average blacks 900.00 to 985.00
