I would like to start off by saying that we farmers like what we do, but it is rough sometimes (most of the time). When we break down we have to get it fixed and then something else tears up and we have too get that fixed and we have to pay outrageous prices to get it back to going, and the grains prices stink.
The president and Congress want to cut the farm program way back or even do away with it completely. In my opinion if they want to cut anything out, the Congress should stop giving themselves pay raises in the middle of the night and they also should stop paying the past presidents and their wives and children.
How can a young or older guy or lady make it in farming when they have to deal with insects, drought and repairs and whatever comes up and then we have to pay a lot out in income tax, and some people don't have to pay taxes. There is something very, very wrong with the system and I do mean wrong. -Jimmy Gunn, Melrose, New Mexico
