The Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 509 head Dec. 19, compared to 1,204 head last week and 199 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, trends on feeders were not applicable due to light receipts. Slaughter cows and bulls were too few to test. Almost all weigh-up cows went to feed. Feeder receipts were 84% steers and 16% heifers, with 79% over 600 pounds. The offering included 52% bred females, 22% feeders, 21% replacement females, and the balance was slaughter cows and bulls and feeder bulls.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 548 lbs., 133.00 full; 6 head, 685 lbs., 119.50; 75 head, 744 lbs., 119.00; 5 head, 812 lbs., 109.75 fleshy.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 18 head, 543 lbs., 125.50.
Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1745 lbs., 56.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1670 lbs., 60.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 955 to 1260 lbs., 45.50 to 46.50.
Replacement females: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, heifers, 925 to 1075 lbs., 92.50 to 101.50; heiferettes, 1025 to 1340 lbs., 59.00 to 68.00. Feeder and exposed cows, Large frame 1, 1375 to 1552 lbs., 50.50 to 56.50; Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 1095 to 1350 lbs., 51.00 to 55.00, younger up to 57.50.
