The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 979 head Aug. 17, compare to 1,136 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady. There was a limited test on feeder heifers. Steer and heifer calves in a limited test with a lower undertone. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average to plain, end attractive. The supply was comprised of 82% steers, 15% heifers with 90% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. A total of 210 cows and bulls sold with 29% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 505 lbs., 126.00 calves; 767 to 792 lbs., 108.50 to 114.00 (112.89); 20 head, 809 lbs., 107.00. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 15 head, 674 lbs., 113.50; 25 head, 747 lbs., 111.00. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 465 lbs., 121.00; 5 head, 631 lbs., 110.50; 46 head, 701 lbs., 110.75. Medium and large frame 3, 5 head, 841 lbs., 95.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 578 lbs., 105.50 calves.
