The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., Aug. 24, reported receipts of 570 head, compared to 979 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $1 higher. No test on steer calves. Heifer calves were steady in a limited test. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average. The supply was comprised of 62% steers, 34% heifers with 86% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Test were limited on slaughter bulls. A total of 69 cows and bulls sold with 88% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 802 to 833 lbs., 107.50 to 111.20 (110.97). Medium and large frame 2, 99 head, 758 lbs., 107.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 579 lbs., 112.00 calves.

Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 8 head, 371 lbs., 118.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 460 to 467 lbs., 118.00 to 123.00 (122.47); 99 head, 738 lbs., 107.75. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 435 lbs., 119.00; 5 head, 498 lbs., 107.50; 7 head, 773 lbs., 99.50.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 2 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1350 to 1500 lbs., 49.50 to 52.50. Boners, 15 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1125 to 1350 lbs., 54.00 to 55.25; high dressing, 56.25; low dressing, 51.00 to 52.50. Lean, 33 head, 85 to 90% lean, 975 to 1200 lbs., 53.00 to 55.25; high dressing, 55.50 to 56.50; low dressing, 48.00 to 52.50. Light, 8 head, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 925 lbs., 43.25 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 3 head, 1500 to 1875 lbs., 68.00 to 68.50; low dressing, 60.50.
