St. Joseph feeder pig auction
The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., Aug. 23, reported receipts of 110 head, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.
Compared to last week's light run, another light test of feeder pigs sold $2 to $3 lower. Demand was only moderate, despite a sharp increase in slaughter hog prices. Prices per head on actual weights.
U.S. 1 to 2: package 43 lbs., 45.50; package 58 lbs., 52.00.
U.S. 1 to 3: package 46 lbs., 38.00.
U.S. 2 to 3: package 42 lbs., 40.25 thin; package 62 lbs., 52.00 thin.
