South central direct sheep sales reportThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Aug. 19 showed receipts of 2,500 feeder lambs, 800 slaughter ewes and 600 slaughter goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. No recent comparisons were available on slaughter ewes. Slaughter goats were $2 lower. Trading was slow, demand was moderate. Scattered showers across the area continue to limit supplies and slow trade. Feeder lambs: Texas, 500 head, Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 75 llbs., 124.00 to 127.00; package of hair sheep 65 to 70 lbs., 103.00. New Mexico, 2000 head, Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 80 lbs., 130.00 for fall delivery. Slaughter ewes: New Mexico, 800 head, Utility 1 and 2, 50.00. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, 600 head, Selection 1 and 2, 55 to 60 lbs., 113.00. Date: 8/25/05
