The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,450 head April 20, compared to 2,410 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher, Holsteins under 550 pounds were $5 to $8 higher, over 550 pounds were $3 to $5 higher. The need for grazing cattle and higher fed cattle trade continues to support the bullish stocker and feeder market. Demand was moderate to good, the supply was moderate. The feeder supply included 37% steers, 13% Holsteins, 40% heifers, 10% bulls, with 23% over 600 pounds.
