Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 600 head April 18, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were steady to firm. Slaughter ewes were fully steady with feeder lambs mostly steady. Supplies were nearly 47% feeder lambs with about 28% slaughter ewes and the balance mostly slaughter lambs. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 128 to 131 lbs., 105.00 to 107.50; 100 head, 121 lbs., 111.50. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, 151 lbs., 107.50. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 42.00 to 47.00, some high dressing or returning to the country 54.00 to 59.00. Cull 1 to 2, 31.00 to 39.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 41 to 44 lbs., 162.00 to 166.00; 53 to 62 lbs., 150.00 to 157.00; 73 to 81 lbs., 135.00 to 138.00; 90 lbs., 118.00. Date: 4/21/05
