Wool industry people needed for AWEX trainingThe American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) is looking for industry people to be trained and certified as AWEX accredited appraisers in the United States. These appraisers will assist the U.S. wool industry by assigning an internationally recognized description of the non-measured wool characteristics. This description better describes wool and translates the description into an easy-to-read formula. In addition, this description system may be used for wool market reporting and will provide more information to growers to assist them in making better informed wool marketing decisions. Wool warehousemen, wool buyers and brokers as well as other professionals working within the U.S. wool industry would benefit most from this session since they work with producers to evaluate wool on a regular basis. Producers, university wool researchers and Extension sheep specialist will also find this training session a valuable communication tool for discussing wool quality and marketing. Space is limited in the AWEX Training Session which will be held in Denver on Oct. 27 and 28. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Bob Padula at 320-269-7973 or padula@starband.net. Date: 9/20/04
