Tulsa livestock sales reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,385 head Sept. 20, compared to 3,916 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and calves were steady to $1 lower. Lightweight heifers were $2 lower. Feeder heifers were steady to $1 lower. Quality was fair to attractive. There was strong demand with good attendance of buyers. Calves were in medium to fleshy condition. Weigh-ups were average. Receipts were comprised of 47% steers, 42% heifers, 10% bulls, with 18% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1 higher. Bred cows continue to go back to the farm. A total of 350 cows and bulls sold with 47% going to packers.
