Tulsa livestock sales report
The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,385 head Sept. 20, compared to 3,916 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Compared to last week, feeder steers and calves were steady to $1 lower. Lightweight heifers were $2 lower. Feeder heifers were steady to $1 lower. Quality was fair to attractive. There was strong demand with good attendance of buyers. Calves were in medium to fleshy condition. Weigh-ups were average. Receipts were comprised of 47% steers, 42% heifers, 10% bulls, with 18% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1 higher. Bred cows continue to go back to the farm. A total of 350 cows and bulls sold with 47% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 2, 19 head, 353 to 395 lbs., 121.00 to 127.00 (125.39); 6 head, 420 to 448 lbs., 109.00 to 120.00 (113.74); 460 to 481 lbs., 113.50 to 117.00 (115.22); 14 head, 520 to 540 lbs., 111.00 to 114.00 (112.87). Small and medium frame 3, 6 head, 430 lbs., 99.50.

Boners, 50 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1625 lbs., 55.00 to 59.50; high dressing, 60.00 to 64.50; low dressing, 49.00 to 54.00. Lean, 44 head, 85 to 90% lean, 975 to 1375 lbs., 54.00 to 58.00; high dressing, 59.50 to 65.00; low dressing, 48.50 to 53.50. Light, 38 head, 85 to 90% lean, 700 to 1000 lbs., 50.00 to 54.00; high dressing, 54.50 to 56.50; low dressing, 44.00 to 48.50.
Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 18 head, 1500 to 2250 lbs., 70.00 to 74.00; high dressing, 75.00 to 82.50; low dressing, 64.00 to 69.00.
Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, heifers, 875 lbs., 4 to 5 months bred, average quality, 950.00; 5 to 6 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average quality, 860.00 to 875.00.
