St. Onge cattle auction newsFriday, September 17, 2004The St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 2,190 head Sept. 10, compared to 2,097 head last week and 664 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder calves sold in mostly small lots sold unevenly steady. Steers were steady to strong and heifers were steady to weak. Yearlings numbers were too few of any weight group to test. Feeder receipts were 56% steers and 43% heifers plus a few Holstein steers, 14% weighed over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows sold steady. Slaughter bulls sold $1 to $2 higher than last week. Receipts were about 78% feeders, 11% females back to the country, 5% slaughter cows, and 4% slaughter bulls and the balance was mostly feeder bulls.
