South Central Direct sheep sales reportThe South Central Direct Sheep sales for the week ending Sept. 17 showed receipts of 3,800 feeder lambs and 700 slaughter goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week feeder lambs and slaughter goats were steady. Replacement ewes and replacement goats were not tested. Trade and demand moderate in limited supplies. Feeder lambs: Texas, 3800 head, Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 70 to 80 lbs., 112.00 to 116.25; 80 to 90 lbs., 110.00. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, 700 head, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 112.00 to 118.00, few 120.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00, few 117.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 108.00 to 113.00. Replacement goats: Does/nannies, 500 head, Selection 1 and 2, babytooth to solid mouth, 85.00 to 100.00 per head.
