Software allows livestock cost projections on handheld computers

Untitled

Cattleman's Calculator, Inc., recently announced the new version of its Cattleman's Calculator livestock cost-projection software, which can now be used on Microsoft Windows Mobile-base Pocket computer devices.

The new software program creates a new cost management tool for the cattle industry, an easy-to-use Windows-based pocket computer that enables cattle ranchers and bankers to make off-site cost calculations about cattle operations and integrate these cost projections with their ranch or bank desktop/laptop personal computer and financial records for improved cost control and management.

The new software features seven program modules: Feedlot Break-Even Costs; Grazing or Pasture Break-Even Costs; Feedlot Profit and Loss; Grazing or Pasture Profit and Loss; Cow Herd Yearly Feed Cost; Cow-calf Profit and Loss; and Purchase Price.

These calculations can be saved in the handheld computer and later transferred to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet in any Microsoft Windows-based desktop or laptop PC using the Cattleman's Calculator Windows PC version for desktop and laptop computers.

An innovative feature of the cattle cost-projection software is an inclusive printing capability for handheld computers. Users can print their cattle cost calculations and projections on standard paper using any parallel port or infrared capable printer, using PrintBoy software, programmed into and distributed with the Cattleman's Calculator software.
