SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 800 head Sept. 20, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter ewes were steady on a thin test. Feeder lambs were steady to firm. Supplies were nearly 80% slaughter lambs with about 11% feeder lambs and the balance mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 and 2 pelts, package 150 lbs., 92.00. Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 123 to 154 lbs., 88.50 to 90.75. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 37.00 to 46.00. Cull 1 to 2, 28.00 to 36.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 75 head, 65 lbs., 136.00; 76 to 83 lbs., 114.00 to 116.00; 89 to 93 lbs., 96.00 to 99.00; 108 to 110 lbs., 87.50 to 92.50. Date: 9/23/04
