Ozark Fall Farmfest set for Oct. 1-3Missouri A rich and bountiful harvest of agricultural products and displays await area farm and ranch folks, and those waiting to learn more about rural living, Oct. 1 through 3 in Springfield, Mo. The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will be blanketed by an unprecedented offering of farm machinery, tools and equipment, livestock trailers, cattle handling equipment, purebred livestock, rural living products and much, much more, organizers said. Farm and ranch families will find over 700 agriculturally-related exhibits and more than 500 head of purebred livestock waiting for them at Farmfest, providing an opportunity for busy producers to inspect a vast array of equipment, machinery and breeding stock in one location. Last year, approximately 45,000 people attended the Farmfest, which has become the Ozarks' largest agricultural event. For area cattlemen, the Farmfest is a genetic paradise. Several beef breeds will be represented and the animals on display are the product of some of the area's finest breeding programs. Additionally, the livestock displays will feature several breeds of horses as well as other species, including some alternative livestock enterprises. There will also be special rural living exhibits with products designed to make life in the country all the more enjoyable. Among the special features at Farmfest will be the popular working stock dog demonstrations, which will be held daily, and a display of antique farm machinery, engines and equipment. Hours for the Ozark Fall Farmfest are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 1 through 3. Admission and parking are free, and the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds is easily accessed on the north side of Springfield, Mo., just off Interstate 44. The Ozark Empire Farmfest is sponsored jointly by the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds and Farm Talk Newspaper.
