Woodward cattle sales report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 6,057 head Oct. 15, compared to 4,170 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $3 higher. Steer calves were $2 to $6 higher. Heifer calves were $4 to $6 higher, except 650 pounds were steady. Demand was good for feeders, very good for calves. Fill was average, few full. Quality was average to plain, end attractive calves. The supply was comprised of 49% steers, 47% heifers with 56% over 600 pounds.
