Watertown cattle sales
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported 600 head Oct. 20, compared to 1,200 head last week and 1,300 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, feeder calves were steady with no test for 700- and 800-pounds. Offerings over 600 pounds were 62%. Feeder steers made up 50% of the run, heifers made up 45% and bulls made up the remaining 5%.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 410 to 427 lbs., 132.00 to 139.00 (136.39); 507 to 541 lbs., 122.00 to 128.00 (124.13); 556 to 598 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00 (122.53); 11 head, 619 lbs., 117.00; 17 head, 942 lbs., 101.80 fleshy; 40 head, 1035 lbs., 95.00; 15 head, 1092 lbs., 91.90. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 855 to 860 lbs., 98.00 to 102.00 (100.18); 9 head, 981 lbs., 98.25.
Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 7 head, 1002 lbs., 80.00.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 442 lbs., 126.00; 469 to 473 lbs., 127.50 to 128.50 (128.16); 503 to 542 lbs., 119.00 to 122.00 (120.50); 7 head, 713 to 731 lbs., 115.00 to 115.25 (115.14); 779 to 787 lbs., 112.00; 800 to 822 lbs., 107.00 to 108.00 (107.16); 39 head, 941 lbs., 93.00; 15 head, 1069 to 1075 lbs., 82.50 to 84.50 (83.17); 6 head, 1110 lbs., 81.75 fleshy.
