SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 500 head with actual receipts near 800 head Oct. 18, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were unevenly steady. Slaughter ewes were steady on a thin test. Feeder lambs were not well tested. Receipts were nearly 81% slaughter lambs with about 11% feeder lambs and the balance mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts, 144 to 154 lbs., 87.25 to 89.50. Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 121 to 152 lbs., 85.00 to 88.50. Slaughter ewes: Few Utility and Good 2 to 3, 37.00 to 44.00. Cull 1 to 2 scarce. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 14 head 86 lbs., 111.00; few 88 to 89 lbs., 91.50 to 94.50; 107 to 119 lbs., 89.00 to 93.50. Date: 10/21/04
