Pratt cattle auction notes
Pratt Livestock Sales, Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,159 head Oct. 14, compared to 2,272 head last week and 2,911 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared with last week, 300- to 700-pound feeder steers were not enough for a market test although a higher undertone was noted, 700- to 900-pound steers were steady to $1 lower, and 900- to 1000-pound steers were $2 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 300 to 950 pounds were steady to firm in a light supply. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $3 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts were 82% 600 pounds and over, 13% 600 pounds and under, 5% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 66% steers and 34% heifers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 64.00 to 67.25 (65.29).
