North Platte cattle sale notes
The North Platte Livestock Auction, North Platte, Neb., Oct. 19, reported receipts of 2,700 head, compared to 2,100 head last week and 2,700 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Neb.
Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 600 pounds were steady to $4 higher. Steers and heifers over 600 pounds were steady to $3 lower. Steers accounted for 68% and heifers 32% of the offering. Weights over 600 pounds were 17%.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 387 lbs., 151.00; 426 to 445 lbs., 137.00 to 145.00 (141.89); 405 lbs., 149.00 to 157.00 (154.95) fancy; 465 to 495 lbs., 137.00 to 140.50 (138.07); 34 head, 454 lbs., 145.00 fancy; 508 to 544 lbs., 124.75 to 130.00 (126.19); 551 to 590 lbs., 119.00 to 124.50 (122.35); 602 to 644 lbs., 117.00 to 121.50 (119.83); 655 to 698 lbs., 114.25 to 118.00 (116.21); 707 to 736 lbs., 111.50 to 113.75 (113.45). Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 8 head, 405 lbs., 140.00; 467 to 497 lbs., 127.00 to 132.50 (131.16); 38 head, 489 lbs., 118.00 fleshy; 11 head, 529 lbs., 120.00; 585 to 597 lbs., 115.50 to 118.50 (116.96); 12 head, 622 lbs., 113.00.
