Salina cattle sales report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 3,677 head Nov. 18, compared to 2,149 head last week and 3,126 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared to last week, 400- to 650-pound feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher. Steers weighing 650 to 950 pounds were mostly $1 to $3 lower with a few loads steady. Heifers weighing 650 to 850 pounds were $3 to $4 lower. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 73% 600 pounds and over, 26% 600 pounds and under, less than 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 66% steers and 34% heifers.
