SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 300 head plus 125 goats, Nov. 22, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady on a thin test. Feeder lambs were steady to firm on a thin test. The supplies were nearly 67% slaughter lambs with about 21% feeder lambs and the balance slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, 123 to 143 lbs., 92.50 to 95.00. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts scarce. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 40.50 to 44.50. Cull 1 to 2, 27.00 to 33.50. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 45 to 58 lbs., 133.00 to 138.00; 62 to 87 lbs., 117.00 to 126.00; 90 to 98 lbs., 109 lbs., 100.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 110.00 to 115.50; 60 to 80 lbs., 100.50 to 115.00. Nannies, 90 to 130 lbs., 58.50 to 60.00. Billies, individual, 175 lbs., 50.00. Date: 11/24/04
