Pratt cattle sales report

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,683 head, Nov. 19, compared to 1,343 head last week, and 2,570 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, 300- to 900-pound feeder steers and 300- to 800-pound feeder heifers were not enough for a market test but a steady to firm undertone was noted. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. Receipts included 61% 600 pounds and over, 24% 600 pounds and under, 15% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 59% steers and 41% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 3 head, 320 lbs., 131.00; 13 head, 395 lbs., 135.00; 25 head, 441 lbs., 139.00; 24 head, 485 lbs., 128.50; 65 head, 567 lbs., 118.50; 60 head, 614 lbs., 113.00; 31 head, 746 lbs., 112.25; 52 head, 799 lbs., 109.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 111.60 to 114.00 (113.17); 65 head, 867 lbs., 104.50. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 16 head, 530 lbs., 118.00; 17 head, 632 lbs., 107.00; 650 to 700 lbs., 105.50 to 107.00 (105.82); 700 to 750 lbs., 105.00 to 107.00 (106.09). Medium and large frame 2, 13 head, 690 lbs., 102.50; 8 head, 726 lbs., 101.50; 750 to 800 lbs., 102.00 to 104.25 (103.44); 21 head, 809 lbs., 104.50. Large frame 2, 900 to 950 lbs., 96.85 to 98.00 (97.09); 4 head, 974 lbs., 87.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 4 head, 329 lbs., 131.00; 21 head, 385 lbs., 123.00; 19 head, 439 lbs., 121.00; 53 head, 540 lbs., 118.00; 17 head, 698 lbs., 99.75; 33 head, 739 lbs., 99.50; 10 head, 787 lbs., 102.00. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 7 head, 469 lbs., 118.00; 6 head, 551 lbs., 109.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 95.00 to 96.00 (95.72); 650 to 700 lbs., 95.00; 47 head, 739 lbs., 95.50; 64 head, 791 lbs., 98.00; 15 head, 879 lbs., 95.50. Medium and large frame 2, 550 to 600 lbs., 106.00 to 107.00 (106.33); 18 head, 715 lbs., 90.00.

Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1, heiferettes, 66.00 to 88.50 (79.28).

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 56.00 to 61.00 (59.02). Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 50.00 to 55.00 (51.49); low dressing, 44.50 to 49.50 (46.95).

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 64.00 to 69.00 (66.50); low dressing, 58.50 to 60.75 (59.92).
