Newport Laboratories assumes biological businessNewport Laboratories, Worthington, Minn., recently announce it will assume the CAVL autogenous biologic production business from Walco. Newport will use the former CAVL site as a diagnostic center, as well as a manufacturing facility to increase its production capacity. The agreement between Newport Laboratories and Walcom specifies that Newport will also assume responsibilities for the former CAVL accounts. Newport Laboratories is a manufacturer of CompaSS Herd Specific autogenous biologics, including bacterins for vaccination against disease due to Mycoplasma bovis, Clostridium perfringens Type A, Mannhaimia haemolytica, Pasteruella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, E.coli, Salmonella, Moraxella bovis and Branhamella ovis. Newport uses advanced molecular biology techniques including genotyping to provide cutting edge diagnostics and scientific isolate selection for bacterin production. All Newport's adjuvants have a 21-day pre-slaughter withdrawal approval when used as directed. Date: 11/22/04
