Miles of Smiles program seeks new board membersWestern Kansas Miles of Smiles is a non-profit organization in Garden City that offers the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities and/or injuries. The program serves riders from throughout southwest Kansas. The 15-member board oversees all operations of the program, with current emphasis on raising funds to build our own facility, which will enable the program to continue to grow. There will be up to five positions available for 2-year terms beginning January 2005. The board meets the first Thursday of every month, and the next meeting will be Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street, Garden City.
