Woodward auction report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 9,064 head March 19, compared to 12,341 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were weak to $1.50 lower. Feeder heifers were weak to $2 lower. Stocker and steer calves were steady. Heifer calves were $2 lower, stocker heifers were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average to plain end attractive. The supply was 65% steers, 34% heifers, with 86% weighing over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 545 cows and bulls sold with 58% to packers.

Lean, 108 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1225 lbs., 46.00 to 47.50; high dressing, 49.50 to 52.50; low dressing, 42.00 to 44.50. Light, 38 head, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1050 lbs., 32.00 to 39.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 38 head, 1500 to 2525 lbs., 59.25 to 63.00; high dressing, 64.00 to 68.00; low dressing, 54.00 to 59.00.
