Winter Wheat clinic to be held March 17Missouri A winter Wheat clinic will be held at the Eric Lawrence farm west of Lamar on March 17, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The purpose of this half day, in-field winter Wheat diagnostic clinic is to train and update growers and agricultural professionals in diagnosing and managing winter Wheat production issues. Topics of the day include: Winter Wheat crop management; winter Wheat IPM principles; disease management; insect management; and weed management. Five state specialists from the MU campus will address the topics specific to their area of specialization. Location of this Wheat clinic is northwest of Lamar, and particpants should gather at 8:30 a.m. From the junction of Highways 71 and 160 in Lamar, go west three miles; north 1.5 miles on SW 30th Lane; then west 3/4 mile on NW 10th Road. There will be 2.5 continuing education units credited at this meeting under the CCA program. For more information, contact the Barton County Extension Center at 517-682-3579.
