Watertown livestock sales
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 2,100 head March 3, compared to 2,250 head last week and 2,250 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, feeder cattle weighing under 500 pounds were $2 to $4 lower. Feeders weighing 500 to 600 pounds were steady, while feeder steers weighing 700 pounds were $3 to $4 higher. Feeder cattle over 800 pounds were steady. Demand was strong for replacement heifers. The offering included 52% steers, 48% heifers, with 89% over 600 pounds.
