Watertown cattle sales
South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 2,000 head March 24, compared to 1,850 head last week and 2,200 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Feeder cattle were steady, though there were discounts for fleshy feeders. The offerings were made up of 55% feeder steers, 45% heifers, with 97% weighing over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 651 to 663 lbs., 92.25 to 96.50 (94.18); 4 head, 653 lbs., 100.00 fancy; 703 to 727 lbs., 93.50 to 95.50 (94.37); 18 head, 767 lbs., 98.00 fancy; 11 head, 775 lbs., 90.50 fleshy; 841 to 848 lbs., 84.00 to 85.30 (85.12); 6 head, 825 lbs., 81.25 fleshy; 855 to 892 lbs., 82.50 to 84.00 (83.85); 11 head, 878 to 886 lbs., 80.00 to 80.75 (80.27) fleshy; 902 to 932 lbs., 80.50 to 82.70 (82.04); 974 to 983 lbs., 80.40 to 81.60 (80.97); 15 head, 961 lbs., 75.75 fleshy; 1014 to 1046 lbs., 79.20 to 80.00 (79.34); 8 head, 1028 lbs., 77.00 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 6 head, 738 lbs., 86.50; 7 head, 883 lbs., 76.75 fleshy.
