The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported 6,979 head June 19, compared to 5,663 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $4 lower, most decline on heavier weights. Feeder heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Steer calves were steady to $2 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Demand good for all classes. Fill was full to average. Quality was average to plain. The supply consisted of 58% steers, 40% heifers with 86% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 982 cows and bulls sold with 74% going to packers.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 12 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1900 lbs., 53.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 56.50 to 58.00. Boners, 275 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1400 lbs., 53.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 55.50 to 59.50; low dressing, 50.00 to 52.00. Lean, 376 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1300 lbs., 51.75 to 54.50; high dressing, 55.50 to 57.50; low dressing, 48.00 to 51.00. Light, 15 head, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 925 lbs., 46.00 to 47.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 49 head, 1190 to 2115 lbs., 65.00 to 69.50; high dressing, 70.00 to 76.00; low dressing, 60.00 to 63.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 7 years old, 1002 to 1308 lbs., 2 to 7 months bred, average, blacks 750.00 to 800.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 2 years old, 900 to 1000 lbs., 100- to 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 1150.00 to 1180.00; 2 to 3 years old, 1250 lbs., with 200-lb. calves, hi blacks, 1290.00; 4 to 6 years old, 1000 to 1150 lbs., with 100- to 250-lb. calves, average, 1050.00 to 1110.00; 4 to 7 years old, 1100 to 1150 lbs., 200- to 300-lb. calves, average to high blacks, 1210.00 to 1270.00; 5 to 8 years old, 1100 to 1175 lbs., with 100- to 250-lb. calves, average, 850.00 to 880.00.
