Tulia livestock sale news
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,196 head June 21, compared to 5,290 head last week and 1,965 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared last week, feeder steers under 500 pounds were $2 to $8 higher, 500- to 700-pound steers were steady to $1 lower, and those over 700 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady to $1 higher. Trade was active. Demand was moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 500- to 875-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 95% and slaughter cows and bulls 5% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 56% of the run, heifers 44%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 82%.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, young to middle aged, 840 to 1200 lbs., with 60- to 120-lb. calves, 725.00 to 880.00 per pair.
