SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., June 21, reported estimated receipts of 700 head, with actual receipts near 1,060 head, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Slaughter lambs were mostly steady. Slaughter ewes were steady. Feeder lambs were steady to $5 higher, with instances of $10 higher on some weights over 90 pounds. Supplies were nearly 41% slaughter lambs with about 40% feeder lambs and the balance mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 132 to 139 lbs., 105.00 to 107.70, 119 to 128 lbs., 102.75 to 106.25. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No. 1 to 2 pelts, not tested. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 32.50 to 38.00. Cull 1 to 2, 21.00 to 30.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 51 to 55 lbs., 129.00 to 130.00; 68 to 76 lbs., 123.00 to 126.00; 94 to 106 lbs., 108.50 to 110.00. Date: 6/24/04
