Pratt livestock sales report
Pratt Livestock Sales, Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 947 head June 17, compared to 775 head last week and 1,623 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared with last week, 300- to 850-pound feeder steers and 300- to 900-pound feeder heifers were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts 69% 600 pounds and over; 9% 600 pounds and under, 22% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 57% steers and 43% heifers.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1l 3 head, 193 lbs., 170.00; 14 head, 282 lbs., 162.00; 5 head, 334 lbs., 142.00; 4 head, 379 lbs., 142.00; 63 head, 748 lbs., 116.75; 60 head, 778 lbs., 116.60; 66 head, 819 lbs., 115.00. Medium and large 1 to 2: 29 head, 733 lbs., 113.00; 65 head, 765 lbs., 113.00; 31 head, 808 lbs., 113.00. Medium and large frame 2, 750 to 800 lbs., 108.00 to 109.50 (108.69); 800 to 850 lbs., 107.25 to 107.75 (107.37). Medium frame 2 and 3, 10 head, 682 lbs., 103.00.
Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 237 lbs., 154.00; 3 head, 253 lbs., 146.00; 12 head, 329 lbs., 140.50; 3 head, 403 lbs., 126.00; 6 head, 601 lbs., 109.50; 6 head, 686 lbs., 109.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 108.50 to 110.50 (110.17); 61 head, 790 lbs., 107.00; 850 to 900 lbs., 102.50 to 104.50 (103.63). Baby calves: 140.00 to 270.00 (237.50).
Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1, heiferettes, 85.50 to 91.00 (88.85).
Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 58.25 to 59.75 (58.62). Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 52.50 to 57.50 (54.63); low dressing, 45.00 to 51.00 (47.88).
Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 65.00 to 69.50 (67.75); high dressing, 1 head, 71.00.
