The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 3,017 head July 16, compared to 3,327 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $3 to $7 lower. Feeder heifers were $2 to $6 lower. Steer calves under 450 pounds were $1 to $2 higher, heavier weights were $2 to $3 lower. Heifers under 500 pounds were steady in a limited test, heavier weights were $6 to $7 lower. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average, few full. Quality was average to plain. The supply included 50% steers, 46% heifers with 82% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were 1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. A total of 267 cows and bulls sold with 61% going to packers.

Lean, 55 head, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1200 lbs., 54.50 to 57.00; high dressing, 58.00 to 59.00; low dressing, 52.00 to 53.75.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 13 head, 1350 to 2050 lbs., 69.50 to 74.50; high dressing, 76.50 to 77.00; low dressing, 67.50 to 69.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 3 to 4 years old, 925 to 950 lbs., 2 to 5 months bred, average quality blacks, 900.00 to 950.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1075 to 1350 lbs., 6 to 8 months bred, high quality blacks, 990.00 to 1030.00; 5 to 8 years old, 950 to 1250 lbs., 2 to 5 months bred, average quality, 790.00 to 870.00.
