West Plains regional cattle sales
The Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains Mo., reported receipts of 3,500 head July 20, compared to 3,217 head last week and 5,532 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.
Compared to last week, steers over 350 pounds were $2 to $4 lower. Heifers under 600 pounds were steady to $2 lower, weights over 600 pounds sold $3 to $4 lower. Most decline was apparent on 7 weight and up steer and heifer yearlings, resulting from continued pressure on live futures and lower cash cattle. The supply was moderate. Demand was good. The supply included 51% steers and 49% heifers, with nearly 52% over 600 pounds.

Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 750 to 860 lbs., 84.00 to 85.25.
