Upcoming horticultural events
Kansas
Kansas State University Research and Extension is offering the following area and statewide horticultural events to all interested persons. For more information about these, as well as more localized events, check with a Kansas county Extension office.
--July 31: Open House/Field Day, Olathe Horticulture Center, 913-764-6300;
--Aug. 5: Kansas Turfgrass Field Day, Rocky Ford Turfgrass Field, Manhattan, 785-532-6173;
--Oct. 2: Composting Demonstration, K-State Gardens, Manhattan, 785-532-1401;
K-State's county Extension Master Gardeners (EMGs) are helping sponsor, offering seminars and demonstrations, and/or answering gardening questions at the following events.
--July 24: Tomato Day (and iris sale), Wichita, 316-722-7721.
