Salina cattle auction news
The Farmers and Rancher Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 3,246 head, July 15, compared to 2,724 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to last sale May 27, steers and heifers under 650 pounds were not tested, 650- to 1050-pound steers and 650- to 850-pound heifers were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 94% 600 pounds and over, 6% 600 pounds and under, less than 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply was 80% steers and 20% heifers.
