SF sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported estimated receipts of 700 head July 19, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs were mostly steady. Slaughter ewes were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder lambs were steady. The supply was nearly 55% slaughter lambs with about 35% feeder lambs and the balance mostly slaughter ewes. Slaughter lambs: Wooled, Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 124 to 141 lbs., 98.00 to 100.50; 153 to 155 lbs., 97.75. Shorn, Choice end Prime 2 to 3, No 1 to 2 pelts not tested. Slaughter ewes: Utility and Good 2 to 3, 36.00 to 43.00; high dressing to 44.50. Cull 1 to 2, 20.00 to 33.50. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 and 2, 43 to 51 lbs., 115.00 to 119.00; 57 to 68 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00; 77 to 89 lbs., 102.00 to 107.00; 92 to 103 lbs., 97.50 to 103.00. Date: 7/22/04
