Pratt cattle sales report
Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 4,384 head, July 15, compared to 1,669 head, last week, and 3,549 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared with last week, feeder steers and 300- to 600-pound feeder heifers were not enough for market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers weighing 600 to 1000 pounds were $5 to $7 lower. Feeder heifers weighing 600 to 900 pounds were steady to $2 lower. Slaughter cows were $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 94% 600 pounds and over, 5% 600 pounds and under, 1% cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 58% steers and 42% heifers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 and 2, 68.00 to 73.00 (71.00); high dressing, 74.00 to 77.25 (74.98).
