NJSA elects board of directorsNational Junior Swine Association members gathered on July 8 to elect four new directors to serve their organization at the National Junior Summer Spectacular in Louisville, Ky. The newly elected Southwest Region directors are Zachary Brockhaus and Seth Hoelscher. Brockhaus, 20, is the son of Paul and Tamera Brockhaus, Blanchard, Okla. He will be a junior at Texas A&M-Commerce, majoring in animal science. Hoelscher, 19, is the son of R.C. and Diane Hoelscher, Hereford, Texas. He will enter West Texas A&M this fall, majoring in animal science. Katey Brattain will be serving as the new Central Region director. Brattain, 19, is the daughter of Kent and Kim Brattain of Greencastle, Ind. She will be entering her sophomore year at Purdue University, majoring in animal agribusiness. The new At-Large director is Cody Brock of Norborne, Mo. Brock, 20, is the son of Kerwin and Melanie Brock and will be a junior at the University of Missouri, majoring in agricultural education and animal science. Returning to the NJSA Board of Directors for one more year of service are President Donielle Inskeep, Mt. Airy, Md.; Vice President Hope Ballman, Leitchfield, Ky.; Secretary Sara Houret, LaGrange, Calif.; and Central Region Directors Wravenna Phipps, Kearney, Neb., and Brandon Yantis, Findlay, Ill. The NJSA Board of Directors serves the organization by setting goals for future activities, organizing events, and raising funds to support their national and regional shows and scholarship programs.
